DR. LIANE S. KANDLER, Â PHD., L. PSYCH.

Dr. Liane Kandler is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist in the province of New Brunswick and Founder of the Progressive Psychology Clinic.
Dr. Kandler began researching early parent-child attachment relationships at the undergraduate level. During her Master's and Doctoral training, her research shifted focus to health psychology, specifically the psychosocial impact of cancer in adolescence and young adulthood. Her academic resume includes national and international presentations, statistical and research consulting, workshop presentation and attendance, and provincial as well as national scholarship awards. She has trained and worked in a diversity of inpatient and outpatient hospital psychiatric settings for children and adults, as well as other hospital settings including oncology care, paediatrics, and women's health. She gained experience providing individual therapy, group therapy, and parenting support.

Dr. Kandler emphasizes communication, collaboration, support, and acceptance in her clinical work. Although she practices primarily from a Cognitive-Behavioural orientation, she integrates strategies from a number of empirically-based therapeutic modalities (including dialectical behaviour therapy, solution focused therapy, mindfulness, supportive therapy, and motivational interviewing) to provide client-tailored, individualized therapeutic solutions.
